In a world bursting with information … I have been reminded lately that while information may be helpful, nothing beats transformation. God has been gently letting me know that He doesn’t want me to be informed, but transformed. Of course, there is nothing wrong with information, the right information is wonderful and useful … but if I am looking for inner peace, information just isn’t going to do it!!
It seems that in the information age everyone is running from here to there, following the latest craze to find fulfilment and peace. The latest craze grabs people’s attention for a while, but then it slips into the past as the next craze emerges. I think young mum’s are particularly susceptible to this … I know I was as a young mum.
God has been reminding me that He is the only source of the right advice and that if I run all my decisions by Him, I’ll win every time. That’s not to say I won’t have difficulties and pain, but I will have His guidance and strength to help me through the difficulties.
If you are keen to be the best mum you can be, the most important thing you can do for your family is to be transformed by God. Everything in life comes out of this one thing. God is wanting to have a relationship with you and He sent His Son Jesus into the world to make that possible. If you want to know more about that you can find help here.
If you already have a relationship with God through Jesus, I would encourage you to seek Him first … not Google! Make time to talk to Him and listen to Him through reading His word. Make that a priority everyday. Most of us wouldn’t go a day without checking our emails, but sometimes we go days without talking to the Maker of the Universe! He’s just waiting for you to include Him in your day, He’s watching you lovingly saying, “let me help you with that” … but sometimes we ask everyone else except Him. So If I could say one thing to the young mum’s (and everyone else) who may be reading this, it would be to take God up on His offer to be your guide, He loves you and He wants the best for you!
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight.”
